The battle of mu'tah

The relations between the Muslims and the Romans were characterized by tension. The Romans and those Arabs who supported them, strove down truly doing, to harass the Muslims and to provoke them any way. The most famous recurring attempts were directed against the coming of as-Sham (the present-day Syria) trade caravans of Muslims and were associated with Ausraubungen raids on the caravans which pass on them. You hard-pressed and oppressed indeed every Muslim who fell to them.

The unfairness reached its peak as a Messenger Al-Hârith ibn Umair Al Azdî as messengers to the rulers of Basrâ in ash-Sham sent, to invoke him to Islâm. The ruler of Basrâ, Schurahbîl ibn AMR Al ghassani, bin had ruthlessly killed him. This was for Allah Messenger especially since it had been unacceptable, the first emissary, who was killed contrary to the standard.Emissaries are handled normally always obliging and it inflicted no harm on them.

The Messenger therefore the people called for the pull-out and fight against the Romans, to put an end to these barbaric practices and to teach them a lesson. In the blink of an eye, over 3,000 fighters to the Prophet had collected. Three of them he handed over the flag and turn command, by he said: "If Zaid ibn Hâritha dies, then (takes over) Ja'far ibn Abû Tâlib (the lead).""And if Ja'far dies, then (takes over) Abdullâh ibn Rawâha (the Guide)." Narrated by Al Bukhaari and Muslim.

The people made themselves ready and went out on a Friday in the eighth year after the Hijrah. As the people from the leaders of Allah Messenger was adopted, Abdullâh wept ibn Rawâha.They asked him: "Why you crying Ibn Rawâha, o?" He said: "by Allâh, I feel the love of worldly life, nor strong longing for you.Rather I have Allah Messenger a Qurân verse which recite revelation book of Allah hear, where the fire is mentioned: "and there is no one among you who would not pass. This is your Lord invariably decided.» (Sûrah 19:71) I don't know so as I turn away from him, after I was done to him."

Then the Muslims said: "Allâh may be your companions, defend you and bring you safely to us!" There, Abdullâh ibn Rawâha responds them: "I please the most gracious truly for forgiveness and an exhaustive strike that smashes the deepest core, or a shock with my hand, ultramarines, a lance holding, which pierced the intestines and heart, until that one on my body passes by and is said: «May Allâh guide the right way, who fought and pursued the right path here!»"

Prophet the following recommended them: "fights in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah! Kill those who do not believe in Allâh!Fights and is not treacherously. Exceed not the measure and not mutilated! "Kill neither children nor monks (or generally people who retire)!" Narrated by Imâm Ahmad and others.

The battle of mu'tah

So, the Muslims went until they came to a village called Mu âna in ash-sham. There was them reported that Heraclius in Ma' with an army of 100,000 Romans were encamped down in Al Balqâ. In addition 100,000 Warriors of the Allied Arab tribes had joined him, such as Lachm, Dschuthâm, Bulqain and Bahrâ. 200,000 fighters to Heraclius gathered so it. Advised the Muslims now, is where some suggested: "we write the Prophet and report to him by the number of our enemy." Either he is with men support us or provide us with his command, we then follow." Others said: "Verily, the countries have been traversed and their residents were put in fear. So let us repent, because there is nothing better than the integrity." Abdullâh ibn Rawâha, however, was silent, therefore, Zayd asked him his view. He said: 'O of people!By Allâh, abhors her that, which is why you're moved from the martyr's death continued? We're fighting people with the number, the weapons or the majority. We fight only with this religion, with which Allâh has proved to be a boon us. "So goes, there will be only one of the two good things: the victory, or the martyr's death!" There, people said: "By Allâh, Ibn Rawâha has right!" So, they went until they came near the town of Al Balqâ, an area of ash-sham. There they met the Roman and Arab armies of Heraclius in einemDorf called Maschârif. The enemy approached and the Muslims retreated into a village called mu'ta (today: Al Karak) back there to prepare. On the right flank of the army they used ibn Qatâda of Banû Aboshady Qutbâ, on the name Ubadah ibn Mâlik left a to sârî.

Then the two armies are faced immediately and it was bitterly fought. The first leader of the Muslims, Zayd led a hard-fought battle, until the ibn Hârithâ, was killed attacking the enemy. There, Ja'far ibn Abû Tâlib the flag took over and began to recite:

"O how lovely paradise and its middle, is
It's nice and his potion is cool!
And the Romans are a target, their punishment is approaching,
unbelievers and not related to us.
I must beat, when I meet them, them!"

His rights was cut off. He took the flag in the left and this too was denied him. So he pressed it with his two stumps in itself until he was killed. There, Abdullâh ibn Rawâha took over the flag and rode with her on his horse forward. Then he descended with the following words:

"I swore, I mean o soul, you truly get off."
You will truly get off or truly abhor it.
When people scream and her screams multiply.
Why do I see then the paradise you loathe?
Long lasted, what did you find peace,
are you more than a drop in a tube?"

And he continued:

"O my soul, if you don't get killed, then you die (yet)!
This is the pool of death and others before you went in the goal.
And with regard to your desires: was already given to you.
If you do, what these two have done, you rightly guided."

When he went down, gave him one of his uncles a piece of meat and said: "So thick you, because friends has happened in these days, what happened to friends." There, he bit off a mouthful with his incisors. Shortly afterwards he heard call the people to fight. He said: "And you're still in this world!" Then he put the piece of meat, took his sword and fought until he was killed. Then, Thâbit ibn Arqam ibn tha'laba took Al to sârî the banner and said: "O Muslims, chooses a man of you!" You said: "You!" He said: "I will not do it." Then they chose Khalid ibn al-Walîd.

The Prophet received revelations, who taught him about the events of the battle. By Anas it is reported that the Prophet people announced the death of Zaid, Ja'far and Ibn Rawâha before the news came to them. He said: "Zaid took the flag and was killed. Then she took Ja'far and he was killed. Then Ibn Rawâha she took and he was killed, while his eyes shed tears. Until that the flag, took over a sword of swords of Allah so that Allâh opened the victory to them." Narrated by Al Bukhaari.

After Khalid had taken the lead, he wanted to save the Islamic army in a way that should keep it including his respect. There should be a pull back after scaring the enemy and a fake by reinforced by fresh troops. He persevered until night and then used the darkness, to change the bearings of the troops. He moved to the left wing of the army on the right side and the right on the left and brought up the rear front and vice versa. He commanded the Muslim horsemen to fabricate a dust cloud and organize strong noise. Since the Romans thought that Muslims had received reinforcements and so sank their determination. The Muslims now exerted pressure on them, so Khalid said: "On the day of mu'tah truly nine swords are broken me, so I had only a Yemeni Tin sword." So, Khalid with lowest losses could successfully return to Al Madîna. The Romans, however, had to accept large losses. This was a great victory for Islâm and Muslims.

When Khalid Al Madîna arrived, some Muslims began, those who had fled at the beginning of the battle, to blame. So she feared the wrath of Allah and his Messenger, and decided to go out on the sea. But they said to themselves: "we face the Messenger itself, either he will forgive us, or we go." You went to him before the morning prayer, he asked: "who are you?" They said: "We are the refugees." He said: "no, rather you are the attacker. I am your flock to you and I am the host for all Muslims." There, they came to him and kissed his noble hand.

This was the battle of mu'tah which is full of lessons and wisdom.Every reader who reads them, makes them speechless. What are people who confront man with 3,000 from a 200,000-strong army? A brief introduction of the two forces but definitely leads to the conclusion that the great army will defeat the smaller. In addition, Muslims presented despite their small number and poor equipment images of sacrifice. But still: the victory over this huge Roman army was given you. The battle of mu'tah all war-technical criteria is a miracle. This battle laid the foundations of the Islamic war theory for the confrontation with the enemy. We are not fighting with the majority or the weapons, we fight only with this religion. If we would fight so sincerely, only Allah religion to support and with what means we can use it, the victory would be loser, if Allâh so wills,.

Love comes to the devotion and sacrifice of a Muslim for this religion with himself and his wealth from his belief in Allâh and its firm conviction of the reward. We find even that courage in this Islamic community? We draw a lesson from history because of the Islamic Jihad, especially from the battle of mu'tah? A lesson about courage and sacrifice in the hearts of their heroes, until this Islamic community gets back to their former glory and spotless dignity.
