Why is this sura is considered to be equal to 1/3 of the Quran
"By late afternoon time that people are suffering, except those who believe and do righteous deeds enjoined on each other truth, and enjoined on each other patience!" (Surah Al 'Asr ", verses 1-3)
In the Qur'an, this short sura it is only a very small part, but in the words of Imam Shafi'i, on the value it is equal to one third of the Qur'an. In Sura 'Asr' it comes to the category of time, Allah Almighty swears here time. For this reason, we should think about its real value and cherish the time allotted to us, not wasting it in vain.Besides religion, adherents of which we are tied to a specific time of execution required of the faithful worship rites and observance of the established time, even considered a mandatory condition of worship. We can not keep uraza before the month of Ramadan, we can not break the fast until sunset. And yet we can not say the adhan and read the prayer ahead of time.
Also there is one indication of the Honorable Prophet (peace be upon him) about the need to properly appreciate the time, which is so important. In one hadith he says that free time is one of the two benefits that are not valued by people on merit. (Bukhari, 1).
For all these indications should be seen allotted to us for our life time as a precious gift of God, and act in accordance with such knowledge.
Past, present and future, which are referred to in these three short verses, independent of time and, of course, all of these three concepts are of great importance. After all, they are part of our lives. Man must remember the past and to take lessons, sorry for the mistakes and find the right solution quickly flown to remember his youth, and strive for excellence in the present. However, doing all this, you need to know that excessive digging into the past will not bring nothing but harm. The same applies to the future, can not always think only about the future.
In the same Sura we meet with three important concepts. It says that not only will lose the people who believe, do good deeds, commanded each other the truth and commanded each other patience. In fact, iman - this is the beginning of everything. Iman is not compatible with any doubts and is essential for salvation in this world and in the Hereafter.
However, we can not be limited to this. We need actions, reinforcing our iman to prove its existence.these actions would be wrong to restrict only those known to us the rites of worship, like prayer, fasting, zakat. Any deal on human and animal use can be regarded as a righteous deed (amal-i Salih).
Another important point - is the duty of believers to encourage each other's adherence to the truth, and strive to get ahead of others in the commission of acts of the righteous. We must always be on the side of good and truth, and never just do not approach the wrong, nasty business, but also to keep others from doing so. And in the last part of this surah mentioned the need to be patient, that is one of the best qualities of a Muslim. When gains some benefit, he should be thankful. When it comes some bad luck, no one in the Muslim does not accuse, do not
