The defeat of the mongols at Ain Jalut
The Muslim world would still have to then deal with one of its biggest challenges. In the seventh century after the Hijra, the Mongols swept Asia destroying everything in their path, and Genghis Khan is was nicknamed himself "the scourge of God sent to punish mankind for its sins.
In the year 617 Ah, Samarkand, Ray, and Hamden were sacked and 700,000 people were killed or captured. In the year 656 a.h., Hulagu, the grandson of Genghis Khan continued his destruction.
Same Baghdad, the main town in the Muslim world, was destroyed. Some estimates are 1800000 Muslim deaths in this horrible carnage. The Christians were able to eat pork and drinking wine openly then surviving Muslims were forced to participate in these binges.
Wine was spilled in the Masdjids and the Adhan (call to prayer) was banned. Following such a disaster and face this threat which weighed on the one hand on the Muslim world, and on the other hand Europe, Allah intervened by allowing Saifouddine Qoutz unify the Muslim army and confront the Mongols at Ain Jalut the 26th of the month of Ramadan, in the year 648 after the hegira.
Despite the strong pressure, Muslims, thanks to Allah, a clever strategy and unfailing courage, crushed the Mongol army and overthrew the tidal wave of horror. The civilized world heaved a sigh of relief and this issue inspired great respect for these noble sons of Islam.
We must meditate regularly on these important episodes of our history: indeed, in our materialistic environment, there is a tendency, too often, to focus only on appearances, forgetting that there is a hand behind, who runs everything, and it is to him that we can find relief and assistance in distress...
