THE LAW: THE SUNNAH AND RECITATIONS OF PROSTRATION IS MANDATORY

Fiqh scholars agree that fall down and recitations that mashruiyah (based on syariah) based on the evidence of the Quran and Hadith. However, they differ in their nature whether mandatory or sunnah.

The view of Al-Shaafa'i and Hanbali argues that fall down and recitations of the sunnah is muakkad, not mandatory. Maliki expressed the view of the sunnah. They base it on the proposition of QS Al-Isra ' 17:107-109; and the hadeeth of Abdullah ibn Umar said: the Messenger who had read a letter that passage of his prayer mat and then he bowed and we join the prostration.

According to a third view recitations of prostration in the above is not necessary because there is a Hadith that the Prophet sometimes don't do it. It was narrated from Zayd Ibn Thabit and he said: I never read the Quran Surah An-Najm at the front of the Prophet, but the Prophet did not prostrate recitations (H.R. Bukhari Muslim).

As for who consider compulsory recitations of prostration is the Hanafi madhhab. A must for readers and listeners based on the Hadith: Sujud recitations of compulsory for people who heard and read it.
